March Session Canceled
*See homework below*

The March and April sessions of the MassForum are devoted to Planning and Evaluation.  We will combine these two sessions to be held on April 15th.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:

Fan out in your community and identify ALL of the assessment (AKA "needs assessments") and planning documents (or on-line sources) which are used in your community

Please record the following for these documents (or on-line sources):
the organization which commissioned the report
-the organization which conducted the assessment and compiled the report
-the type of the data (ie: health, social, demographic, behavioral, assets/deficits, economic, etc.)and the source of the data (survey, census, hospital/medical, local and or state government) -that were collected for the report
-the dates that the report covered (with particular attention to the dates the data were from)
-
give some assessment if this report is useful to you and your community -- questions that could be asked: Is it current enough?  Does it deal with our targeted population or area? Does it ask the questions we need? And finally, is the "owner" of these data willing and able to share it? May you use it and how?

Press hard to find planning documents that you may not know about!  Be sure to check the library, hospital(s), social services, schools, faith groups, academic institutions, planning agencies, municipal and county governments, local public health, not for profits such as Habitat for Humanity, etc. and ANY online data sources that are available to your community.  Where would you go to get the data you need to plan with?

Please come to the training with a list of these reports that will answer all the questions above (to the best of your ability - and time) and make sure you have enough copies to share with other communities.

Team contacts: Please be sure that all your team knows about this change in the training calendar and the assignment.
